FAQs
How it Works
Client Submission
Send your PDF blueprints, CAD files, or BIM models through our secure portal.
Scope Review & Audit
Our team analyzes the drawings against the required scope of work.
RFI Generation (If Needed)
If we identify missing, conflicting, or incomplete information, we immediately generate a professional RFI list for you to send to the client.
Digital Takeoff & Modeling
Using FastDUCT and FastPIPE, we perform a technical, 3D-validated takeoff of the MEP systems.
Labor & Code Calibration
We apply recognized industry labor standards (SMACNA, MCAA, PHCC) to the quantities to ensure realistic bidding.
Final Quality Audit
Senior estimators reviews the entire package for accuracy, technical logic, and compliance with project addenda.
Bid-Ready Delivery
You receive a comprehensive package:
- Color-Coded Markups: Transparent, visual proof of every item counted.
- Detailed Excel Reports: Organized by system, floor, or CSI MasterFormat.
- Export-Ready Files: Data formats that integrate directly into your internal bidding software.
Read most frequent questions
What labor standards do you use for your estimates?
We utilize the most respected benchmarks in the industry. Our reports are generated using SMACNA, MCAA, and PHCC labor units. This ensures your bid is both competitive and profitable.
How do you handle incomplete drawings?
We take a proactive approach. If the documents are incomplete, we immediately generate a detailed RFI (Request for Information) report. This allows you to clarify gaps with the client early in the bidding phase, reducing your risk of “scope creep” later on.
Can you calibrate the takeoff to my specific shop standards?
Yes. Our software—FastPIPE and FastDUCT—is highly customizable. We can calibrate the takeoff to match your specific pressure classes, joint types, and fabrication preferences so the output reflects your unique field operations.
How quickly can I get a quote for a new project?
We typically provide a fixed-fee proposal for our services within 2 to 4 hours of receiving your plans.
What is the typical turnaround for a full MEP takeoff?
Most commercial and industrial projects are delivered within 48 to 72 hours. Because we leverage a 24-hour production cycle, we often deliver the finished takeoff while your local competitors are still reviewing the plans.
In what format will I receive my files?
You will receive comprehensive Excel reports, high-resolution PDF markups, and data files ready to be imported directly into your internal bidding or procurement software.
Who owns the takeoff data?
You do. Once the project is delivered, all data, markups, and reports are your property. We maintain strict confidentiality and are happy to sign project-specific NDAs.
What is the accuracy rate of your quantities?
By using specialized MEP estimation software rather than manual “point-and-click” tools, we eliminate the margin for human error. Our quantities are guaranteed to be “field-accurate” based on the provided construction documents.
